The Laser Advantage
| Laser based machining has many competitive advantages for industrial material processing as compared to conventional machining techniques like wet or dry etching, precision machining, micro electro discharge machining, water jet cutting, and many others. The superior attributes of utilizing lasers in material processing are no tool wear, non-contact processing, high precision, higher throughput, increased yields, excellent repeatability, cleaner processing and minimal heat affected zones, smaller geometries, lower cost and processing of virtually any material. |

Software
| One critical component that is often overlooked in laser micro-machining is the importance of software. At Control Systemation, software is an integral component of the process solution. We have developed software that specializes in synchronizing the laser, axes control, vision and electronics to provide solutions not possible with traditional systems. Proprietary database driven software for calibration routines enhance the inherent capabilities of the lasers beyond the basic hardware and laser physics providing unparalleled processing features not available anywhere else. |

Diagnostic Equipment for result measurement and process control.
| Our applications laboratory is also equipped with diagnostic and measurement instruments to analyze and quantify process results. Once a process has been proven, this laboratory can also be utilized to conduct manufacturing simulation. Bringing laser applications from the concept stage to a production ready system can be challenging. Control Systemation has invested heavily in acquiring the types of measurement equipment and systems to meet these strenuous requirements. |
| The right diagnostic equipment for laser and process characterization ensures a “Production” repeatable process. The right measuring equipment provides instant feedback and ensures that we are achieving the desired results that meet the customer’s requirements in a timely manner. Faster results with analysis allows for the introduction of a stable laser process to be brought into your manufacturing area sooner. |
